Designing and testing PFP9W
The purpose of this collection of servers is to provide a test bed for various ideas. Part of it is to make available the hardware I've accumulated for people to make and test kernels and drivers. Another is for testing network based programs from a 9front system running on bare metal with a basic internet connection.
What is needed are people interested in writing kernels, drivers, networked programs, and the like to get accounts, log in and poke around the local grid. Then give feedback on how they think the storage and network should be laid out make the work as smooth as possible.
Things to consider;
-
The physical layout of the network
-
The computers to use and their function
-
How to divide up the storage
-
Handle access to ethernet and serial ports
-
Setting up temporary file servers for PXE/netboot
